Born on 12th January 1985, Issa Rae is an American actress, producer, and writer. Issa started gaining attention from her work in Awkward Black Girl, a Youtube web series, in 2011.
Keeping initial popularity in her mind, she continued developing her youtube channel and featured various short films, web series, and other content created by people of color.
Issa is best known for creating, co-writing, and starring in the Insecure, an HBO television series.
She has received two Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work in Insecure.

Weight Loss Journey
As an actress and YouTuber, Issa has a very busy schedule. Issa has revealed, in the April issue of Women’s Health magazine, that she learned to make time to workout after gaining a little weight.
YouTube series The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl was her most popular series which had picked up steam and caught the attention of TV executives.
In a conversation with Women’s Health, she said that “She was very very broke when the web series started” but ended up gaining what she called “New Money Weight.”
In addition, Issa also revealed that “The more opportunities I started receiving, the more New Money Weight I was gaining.”
She explained: “When you get to a new job, you will be like, ‘I can afford to eat at restaurants all the time!’ which adds additional pounds to your weight.”
Her career was expanding along with her weight. And finally, she noticed herself overweight on TV.
Issa revealed that Seeing herself in that condition her self-esteem took a hit! This incident motivated her to slim down and she decided to make time for her body appearance.

How Issa Rae Lost Her Weight
Issa has already admitted that when it came to exercising and eating right, she was a big excuse person.
The desire to work out and live a healthy lifestyle does not come naturally. Issa had also suffered from this but seeing herself on tv messed her self-esteem.
At that time, she was shooting for Insecure, and definitely, she had a lack of time to work out, but she made an exercise routine that actually worked for her.
She started waking up early in the morning at 4:55 AM. And instead of joining any gym, she opted to jog through her neighborhood for an hour.
She alternated between walking and jogging. Issa’s decision to get serious about her fitness also helped her in her mental well-being.
In an interview, she revealed that After being vegetarian for more than 15 years, she has now started living a paleolithic lifestyle. Issa Rae gave credits to Prioritizing Exercise And A ‘Paleo-Leaning’ Diet for her weight loss.

Issa has revealed that she was following the Paleo-Leaning diet in her weight loss journey. This dietary plan is based on foods similar to what might have been eaten during the Paleolithic era, which dates from approximately 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago.
Issa’s diet mainly includes lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Her diet is also known as the Stone Age diet.
Issa opted for the Paleo-Leaning diet because modern eating habits have genetically mismatched the modern diet that emerged with farming practices. In her daily diet, she used to avoid Grains, Legumes, Dairy products, Refined sugar, Salt, Highly processed foods, and potatoes.
